May the Fourth be with you, my friends! In the spirit of my busiest wedding day of the year, I wanted to share with you the Ultimate Star Wars wedding! I’ve photographed a lot of Star Wars weddings in my time, but this was definitely next level! I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed photographing this incredible day!
Michelle and George met each other through an elementary school friend, who went to George’s high school. It was their friend’s 16th birthday party, and they immediately knew that they were the droids each other was looking for.

Michelle loves George’s sense of humor, his kindness and easy going attitude, and his views of the world. She admires him for always thriving to always be better than he already is, and loves that he’s always wanting to always take on new challenges. She loves his intelligence and how curious he is to learn more. He also compliments her strong personality well, and loves to go along with Michelle’s crazy ideas. In Michelle’s words, “I love how he loves me and is willing to do anything for us.”

George loves Michelle’s fiery spirit and how she will move mountains to get what she wants. He also loves her compassion. He loves how they complement each other and in his words, “She is the real ying to my yang.”

Their first date was at George’s Junior Prom in 2006. While they were being escorted to their seats, George caught the DJ playing “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole. George said, “It had been my grandparents’ wedding song and something just made me want to drag her to the dance floor to dance with her. She didn’t seem to mind being dragged there with me. In fact, she had a huge smile on her face as we danced. That was when I knew she was the one for me.”

A. Michelle: We love the little things such as being together after work, eating dinner, and spending the rest of the night sitting on the couch together. We also love visiting Disneyland together every month and spending our 16 hour road trips talking in the car about dreams for our future.

Michelle and George wanted their reception colors at the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion of the Disneyland Hotel to reflect the light side and the dark side of the force.

Instead of a first dance, Michelle changed into a dark side dress and they had an epic light saber battle.

George brought his remote controlled BB8 droid with him to the reception, and the guests had a great time with it.

Together, they love to go out and try new restaurants, snuggling up in the living room to watch TV, and enjoy a good choose-your-own-adventure or Role-Playing video game every once in awhile. Michelle says, “Our pastime and real joy is traveling to the various Disney Parks and enjoying our travels together. Our current goal is to go to all the Disney Parks around the world. We just completed going to Tokyo Disney. Our goal is to hopefully go to Paris Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland. We started making a list of goals and things we want to accomplish and checking them off our bucket list has been exciting.”

Michelle and George had custom drinks. The Bride’s Side beverage was “Michelle’s Empire”, and the “Groom’s Side drink was “George Strikes Back”.

George on his proposal to Michelle: “It took me about 6 months to plan out every facet of our engagement from the actual timeline of the day to how I would buy the ring without Michelle finding out what I was doing. I knew we were going to Disney World for Star Wars Weekends and I wanted to make the proposal a public but simultaneously intimate event, so I wanted it to be on an attraction in a place that we both loved. Michelle used to joke that our first kiss was on the Dumbo attraction in Disneyland and I thought it would be a cute idea to immortalize Dumbo into our love story by proposing there. I was a nervous wreck the entire time before our proposal because I was scared Michelle would find out and the weather the entire week was unpredictable because of the scattered storms that littered the skies the entire time we were there. Luckily it did not rain the morning I was going to propose. Michelle chose the red Dumbo (the only one in the entire ride) and as we were taking the Dumbo to its highest point, I took out the ring and nervously recited the speech I had prepared in my head. At first, Michelle looked up at me with her eyes wide with surprise and said “No.” I was confused until she kept screaming “No, no, NOT HERE, I MEAN YES, YES I DO!” in disbelief because she could not believe I was proposing to her right then and there. She was so giddy and excited the rest of the day. We excitedly ran to Be Our Guest to eat and then ran straight to Hollywood Studios to propose to her again in the San Francisco Backlot. I wanted to include something from San Francisco in our engagement because the city was such a pivotal part of how we got close as a dating couple. I treated her to dinner at the Hollywood Brown Derby and took her back to the hotel for one more surprise to wrap up the end of the day. While we were out, I had people come into our hotel room to decorate it with romantic candles, rose petals, and countless knick-knacks that I knew Michelle would enjoy. It even included towels with our names on it and an autographed picture of Mickey and Minnie wishing us a very beautiful engagement! I think Michelle enjoyed that day, though you would have to ask her if she REALLY loved it! ;)”

Just in case you’re wondering, Michelle confirmed to me that it was the best day of her life. 😉 ~Jenna

After their reception, Michelle and George had an afterparty at the Launch Bay in Tomorrowland.

Michelle on having a vow renewal: Disney did such an amazing job with our wedding that we decided to have a vow renewal with them as well. Disney has been so wonderful and that’s why we were excited to celebrate our love once again with them!

George said for their first wedding, that “We both felt like Cinderella at the ball on our wedding night. We had so much fun and time went by so quickly that we couldn’t believe our wedding day was over when we went back to our hotel room that night. Our wedding was nothing more than perfect.”

During their after party, they had several characters show up.

Custom cakes for their guests:

They also treated their guests to a ride on Star Tours and Space Mountain!

Thanks for having us, Michelle and George! Your wedding was nothing short of epic!
