Trevor teases that I always wind up working at places where I love to eat. The Jazz Kitchen is one of those places. It’s such a fun place with a great atmosphere that is unique and special. We’ve spent many date nights there, and we say that if we ever renewed our vows, it would be at the Jazz Kitchen…or the Mark Twain, but most likely the Jazz Kitchen. 😉

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing many weddings and events there. Bruno is wonderful to work with, and the events are always top notch. A little while ago, I reached out to Bruno and see if he could answer a few questions about using the Jazz Kitchen to host a wedding. Here is what he said! 🙂

1) What makes the Jazz Kitchen a great venue for weddings?
Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen offers the charm, elegance and hospitality of New Orleans in the heart of Downtown Disney. What better place to bring the love of jazz music, traditional New Orleans cuisine, historic architecture and the passion for Disney all in one place? With 4 different themed rooms, Jazz Kitchen makes for an ideal intimate wedding area for couples that want to take in every moment of their wedding with their family and friends and not get lost in an overwhelming space.

2) What type of couple does the Jazz Kitchen attract?
We have had the pleasure of working with couples that are from Louisiana, have history with the crescent city from schools or have memories of meeting on Bourbon Street or floating on the Mississippi river. Our guests have also ranged for dedicated Disney fans looking to add us as part of their Disney memories. Regardless of connections to Louisiana or the Disneyland Resort, I believe we attract guests that have a passion for food, art, music and are looking for a venue that offers a bit of world-class charm.

3) What are some of the most interesting weddings or ideas you have seen at the Jazz Kitchen?
From being airlifted from our courtyard area in a helicopter to a full on presidential caravan into the restaurant, we have heard some interesting ideas. However, some of the best ideas are sometimes the simplest. In keeping with New Orleans tradition, we have had a 2nd line parade march the couple into their reception space to a full venue wedding with a ceremony on the 2nd floor followed by a Mardi Gras style reception on the first floor. The ideas are endless. We will have a wedding in January with a magic show…ideas are endless.

4) What variety of wedding packages/options do you offer for wedding couples?
We believe each wedding is different therefore we are able to customize each wedding to fit a certain budget or fit a couple’s request. From lunch time buffets or seated menus to evening mixers and dinner receptions with dancing, we are able to customize each event. The Jazz Kitchen works with food & beverage minimums based on time, date and space. Each couple’s special requests do help determine a minimum and then we are happy to help create an event to reach it. From ceremonies to receptions, our venue is ideal to wedding groups of 10-100 guests.

5) What’s unique about the Jazz Kitchen food service for wedding events?
For over fifty years, Ralph Brennan and his family have proudly served the finest Louisiana cuisine. Jazz Kitchen’s Chef Darrin Finkel prepares mouthwatering Gumbo Ya-Ya, Coconut Shrimp, Pasta Jambalaya and Double Chocolate Bread Pudding Soufflé.

Imagine your guests savoring classic New Orleans cuisine while enjoying the beat of live Jazz. 7) Anything else you would like to add?
Each of Jazz’s Kitchen’s eight distinct event spaces (many of which can be combined for a bigger place to party!) celebrates the charm and beauty of historic and contemporary New Orleans. Our QUEEN’S room boasts six floor-to-ceiling Mardi Gras-inspired oil portraits. The elegant PARLOR room appears transplanted from a New Orleans garden district mansion and the intimate WINE room is the best kept secret in the Downtown Disney® District. The rollicking FLAMBEAUX Room anchored by an outrageously beaded piano is the perfect backdrop for a festive, live music event.
