Did you know, there’s a suite at the top of the Disneyland Hotel called the Adventure Suite? Well, there is! And it’s absolutely the coolest place at the Disneyland Hotel, and taking wedding photos in the Adventure Suite has been on the top of my bucket list for years! Add to the excitement of the Adventure Suite, if you follow Alex on instagram, you’ll quickly see why I was counting down the days to their Vintage Disney Wedding at the Grand Californian Hotel. Alex takes beautiful pictures, and I knew her getting ready photos at the Adventure Land Suite of the Disneyland Hotel would be nothing short of incredible. Alex and Jon are also lovely people and so fun to be around! It was a treat documenting their wedding day, and I’m sad it’s all over!
Alex and Jon are one of those couples that you can tell are just in sync, and it’s easy to see how these two hit it off so quickly. They met at a local comic book convention, and being Cosplay lovers, they were both in costume when they met. They quickly became friends when they realized they both loved Cosplay, Disneyland, and Netflix binges. Their first date was at Disneyland, where they spent the evening watching the fireworks together. That wonderful date became the first of many magical memories together. It only made sense to propose at the place where their romance began, and so Jon designed a creative surprise proposal at Disneyland during the holidays. Alex and Jon were taking photos in front of the Main Street Christmas tree when Jon asked Alex to grab a present from under the tree. Alex closed her eyes and Jon took out a ring and proposed. When she said yes, her dad and sister came out to congratulate them.
Disneyland became an important place for their relationship milestones, so they knew their wedding would need to be a Disney Wedding. The day they were hitched was really fun, Miss Rockabilly Ruby was doing the hair and makeup, and we took full advantage of the theming in the Adventure Room. I’d been eyeing the vintage bathtub for two years, and I had to pinch myself when I realized I would finally be able to use it for photos with Alex, who looked so beautiful and perfectly styled for the room. Alex made so many of her wedding details herself, I was really impressed with her talent. Take me back to that wonderful day! Or at least, let me look through the photos again for the 50,000 time! Enjoy!
