Cake smash sessions are always one of my favorite milestones to photograph. This Snow White ~ themed cake smash was such a fun way to celebrate a first birthday.
This cake smash session took place at our studio in Santa Ana, California, where we design each session to be baby-led, relaxed, and fun. I always love seeing how each baby reacts to the cake ~ some dive right in, while others are more wary. Every reaction is adorable in its own way.
Our cake smash sessions are 45 minutes long and timed carefully to work with a baby’s comfort and attention span. Little ones move fast and lose interest quickly, so we do too. We always begin the session at our white wall, which feels simpler and less intimidating than a full setup. Once baby warms up and gets comfortable, we move to the larger themed backdrop and then introduce the cake.
Cake smash sessions are one of my favorite ways to celebrate this milestone. They’re quick, playful, and full of personality, and no two sessions are ever the same.
