It was so nice to spend the morning with Ruby and Eric. They’re just how you would imagine them. Sweet and down to earth, and very much in love with each other. We met on a cold and rainy weekday at Disneyland, but we were determined to take photos anyway. Ruby must have been freezing, but I don’t think she complained once. We had a great time running around the park, talking about their adventures together, and even spent a little time saying goodbye to Paradise Pier. 🙂

It’s their 10 year anniversary this week, and I thought it would be a great time to feature their anniversary session. You can also see them featured on the Official Disney Wedding Blog.

Ruby and Eric met 12 years ago at his house in 2005. Ruby worked with Eric’s Mom, and was new in town and didn’t really know anyone. Eric’s mom had a gathering while Eric was home for the weekend from college, and so she invited Ruby. Eric and Ruby hit it off immediately, and started talking on MySpace after a few exchanges of hi and hello.

Ruby’s favorite characters are Ariel, Prince Eric, Stitch, and ALLLLL THE PRINCESSES! Their favorite snacks at the park are Churro, Dole Whip, and of course, the Turkey legs. Their favorite attractions are Guardians of the Galaxy, Buzz Lightyear, and Star Tours.

When asked to describe their relationship in one word, they said they’d describe it as “giving.” Their favorite thing to do with each other is going to Disneyland on their days off with their kids, having a barbecue, and going to movies together. Ruby loves that Eric is understanding, kind, and selfless. Eric loves how Ruby is the same.

Even though the weather said it would rain, it only sprinkled a bit until our session had ended. I put away my camera, and then it started to pour down buckets of rain. We smiled at how we somehow timed everything just right.
While we were taking photos at Paradise Pier, dozens of birds began to fly around. It was really fun to capture.
Thank you for having me photograph your anniversary photos, Ruby and Eric! I look forward to hearing about more of your adventures together. 🙂
