Imagine a long six hour journey in a van packed with siblings who had exhausted their library of road games and travel songs. We had just pulled off the freeway, and spent the last few minutes of our journey, eagerly looking for the first glimpse of a white mountain nestled smack dab in the city of Anaheim. As soon as we saw it, we knew we’d finally arrived and had a weekend of fun in store. Flash forward to my post high school years. I worked across from the Matterhorn on the Storybook Canal Boats everyday. We had a playful competition going on with the Cast Members who worked there and would take photos of my Harold doll in ridiculous outfits and settings, and then send the photos over to the Matterhorn with notes about what he’d been up to on the Storybook Canal Boats. My Harold doll now lives tucked away in a small box with random items like a red cowboy boot that my son refused to take off from the age of 2-4. A box of things that wouldn’t mean anything to anyone else, but bring back so many great memories like the time I worked in attractions. I’d been dying for an opportunity to bring Harold out for a session, so when the moment finally came – I had an “I just scored boarding group 1-35 for RotR” level of excitement.
Little Archie was the sweetest little nugget, and slept through our session like my husband sleeps when he goes on Small World.
I also had some NuiMO’s on hand, I was so pleased with how cute this turned out.
Thanks so much for coming to our Orange County studio, little Archie! We had such a nice time meeting you, and we hope your life is full of exciting Matterhorn adventures.
