I’m a “set your alarm early because I’ll be working that snooze button” kind of gal, but on the morning of Brian and Joanne’s first look at the Haunted Mansion before their Disney Wedding, I shot out of bed at 3am like it was Christmas Morning. Brian and Joanne had their beautiful first look on the steps of the Haunted Mansion, and I can’t think of a more incredible way to begin your lives together.
Brian and Joanne worked together at a local men’s department store. They had their first conversation together while they were folding dress shirts. After a while, they began to look forward to the more mundane tasks of working retail. It was always these tasks that gave them a chance to talk with each other.
On their first date, Brian brought over a movie and cupcakes and Joanne made hot pockets for dinner. They didn’t like the movie, but had the best time together and stayed up talking until the next morning.
Joanne’s Hayley Paige dress was gorgeous!
I loved that Joanne and Brian had their session at the Haunted Mansion and the Matterhorn. The Matterhorn is always so pretty in the morning, and it made for some beautiful portraits.
Brian and Joanne’s wanted their wedding to have subtle Haunted Mansion details, with overgrown greenery and white flowers with purple accents.
More Haunted Mansion vibes….
After our Disneyland portrait session, Brian and Joanne had a day to rest and relax before their wedding day. When we came back the next day for photos, we were still on a high from our session the day before.
Brian proposed to Joanne at the Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii. He planned a special day of fun in the sun followed by a nice dinner. After dinner they had a walk on the beach at sunset. They made their way to a private area of the beach and Brian got down on one knee. She held her breath when Brian put the ring on her finger, because it was literally the most perfect ring for her in the world but also because they were inches away from the rocky edge. She was so nervous that the tiny ring would somehow fall and make its way into the ocean like the scene in the Lord of the Rings.
Joanne loves Brian’s positive attitude about new adventures, and loves how he firmly believes that dreams can and do come true. She loves that she can be herself in front of him, and that he’s charming and sweet. She said she feels so lucky to be the one spending the rest of her life with him.
Brian Loves Joanne’s optimistic outlook to their future, and how she is always willing to try new and fun things. He loves how her smile lights up his soul, and how she always encourages him and lifts him up when he needs it.
Brian and Joanne had their wedding ceremony at the Parkview Terrace of the Grand Californian Hotel.
Their reception was in the Wisteria Room of the Grand Californian Hotel, I loved the centerpieces. Brian is an artist and designed and drew all of them himself!
Their wedding cake was a fun tribute to the Haunted Mansion, and they had a lot of beautiful fun themed for their guests, like ghost cake pops and macarons.
I love that they also served their guests their favorite snacks.
As a surprise for their guests at the end of the night, Brian and Joanne took their guests into the park to watch Fantasmic! Brian and Joanne love going to theme parks together, and they wanted to incorporate that into their wedding day.
Brian and Joanne are most excited to have a constant person in their lives. They’re excited to go on adventures, talk about everything, and work on their goals and dreams together.
The Fantastic viewing was really special, their guests had a special area just for them to watch, and everyone loved the show.
Once Fantasmic ended, they were able to have one more ride on the Haunted Mansion before park closing. It was the perfect ending to the perfect night.
Congratulations, Joanne and Brian! You two are so perfect together, thank you for having me capture your wedding day.
