One of the things I inherited when I married my husband, is a family full of talented cooks. 😉 My plant based diet has always been looked at as a fun culinary adventure for them, and they love coming up with new recipes and baking techniques. It’s one of many ways they show me their love. My brother in law and husband even planned and cooked the meal for our wedding.
My mother in law is known for her beautiful pies. When my son had her apple pie for the first time on the Fourth of July, he talked about it for a week or two afterwards, wondering why it wasn’t just something we ate every day at our house. For my mother in law, making pies is an art form, with detailed designs and flavors. After I had taken a course on food photography, I wanted to test a few things I’d learned and knew her pies would be a lovely match. Because of all this, on one sunny day, I called and asked if she would mind if I brought my camera over and took photos of her baking pies. I’ll just say it was a delicious day for everyone.
Enjoy!
If you’re local to the Inland Empire and are still looking for a wonderful place to find a pie, I highly recommend I Like Pies in the Claremont Village. I promise, you will not be disappointed! My family will often go there when my mother in law doesn’t have a pie on hand and it looks like they are taking orders for Thanksgiving. 🙂
Also, you can find the Pie Cards we created over at my Etsy shop.Â
I just figured out how to make a grain free AMAZING pumpkin pie (Paleo friendly).
Oh J, I bet it’s amazing!!!! 🙂
Why can’t this post be in 3D so I can taste some of that pie? They look beautiful!
She does make some really beautiful pies. 🙂 Everyone else loved the apple, but my favorite was the triple berry.
