Andreina and Ty: Anaheim Hills Wedding

It was a pleasure to photograph Ty and Andreina’s Anaheim Hills Wedding. It was a fun day, with lots of laughing and little tributes to Batman sprinkled throughout the ceremony (more on that later!) Andreina and Ty met in October of 2012 at Disneyland by the Cozy Cove in California Adventure, and immediately they both felt a spark and they knew their paths were destined to merge. Even though they were with a group of friends, they felt like it was just them the entire day.

Soon after they started dating, their relationship was put to the test when Ty had to leave for Pharmacy school in Hawaii, and Andreina had to stay behind to finish her graduate studies. The long-distance was difficult throughout the years (3.5), but they realized they didn’t want to be apart, and it brought them to where we are today.

In Ty’s words, “What I love about Andreina is that she is cute, nerdy, fun. Most especially, I love how we can joke with each other all the time without being reserved or worried about how she would react. It is so liberating to feel like I am finally myself with someone without being afraid of any repercussions or judgements. Additionally, she is so caring and puts me at ease with her presence.”

In Andreina’s words: “What I love about Ty is how he is my bestest friend, and most of all, my greatest partner of crime. I am finally comfortable in my own skin because he loves every quirk about me. He is calm, patient, and pushes me to grow and think outside the box. Ty is the reason why I have learned to do things that would usually cause fear in me; he has been the constant beam of confidence for me. Most of all, he is my rock. I overwhelm myself with lots of responsibilities and tasks, but his mellow attitude stabilizes me.”

Their first date was sharing chili cheese fries at “The Hat”. They lingered afterwards and listened to their favorite music in Ty’s car, not wanting to their date to end. Andreina and Ty love trying new places to eat, bringing leftovers home to relax and eat in front of the TV, and playing video games together. What they’re looking forward to most, is simply spending time together. The long distance relationship was tough, and they’re elated to finally start a life where they never have to be apart again.

Ty was home for the summer and secretly asked Andreina’s dad for permission to marry Andreina. A few months after, Andreina went out to Hawaii to visit Ty. The morning after she arrived, they went on a hike that had been planned by Ty. Andreina loves waterfalls, so he made sure to find a hike that included one. As they came to a beautiful waterfall, Ty asked Andreina to climb up on a boulder to get a better angle for pictures. When she turned around, he was down on one knee.

Their wedding theme had touches of Batman, Andreina is a big Comic Book fan and Batman has always been her favorite.

During the wedding planning, Ty felt like Andreina’s eye for details made the planning easier. He liked that she knew what she wanted and enjoyed that she wanted to incorporate Batman, comic books, and elegance. Ty loves how Andreina likes to have fun and truly dislikes formally traditional themes. Andreina loved how patient Ty turned out to be. The wedding process proved to them that they make a great team and complement each other. They loved how quickly they were able to make decisions and come to compromises.

During the reception, they had a comic themed photobooth, and their wedding party all wore super hero capes for their first entrance. It was a great night!
