When Astrid and Ivan e-mailed to ask me about their Disneyland engagement photography, I had no idea what was in store for me. Astrid had the most adorable ideas and outfits, and every time she’d say she was off to change, I’d say….”wait, there’s more?” She loved hearts, and so I wracked my brain for all of the places I’ve seen hearts before at the park. Once we came up with a game plan, we set off shooting and I started seeing the park in a way that I hadn’t seen before. There really are hearts everywhere! Perfect for Valentine’s photos! Before you scroll through this post, lets see if you can come up with a few areas offhand?
Have you thought of them? Okay, here we go!!!
Of course, we started out by Snow White’s Wishing Well. The sun was really bright on this day, so I found the shadiest spot around and incorporated the beautiful wooden crafted hearts into their photo. And don’t you just love Astrid’s heart sweater and tulle skirt?
You know that moment during your engagement photos when you’re staring sweetly into each other’s eyes, and you suddenly think….”okay, this is a little silly”? 🙂
After the wishing well, we took a few photos in Fantasyland. I was hoping for a heart teacup, but the lighting wasn’t right so we switched gears. I don’t think Astrid and Ivan cared. They were so cute together.Â
Minnie’s mirror is high fashion, don’tcha know?
Speaking of Minnie, I love these ears.
You can’t leave Disneyland without getting a photo of the castle. I’m not certain, but I think a castle photo may be a Disneyland law, probably found in the books of City Hall on Mainstreet. Okay….I made that last part up, but it definitely should be.
On our way to California Adventure, we stopped by Main Street to take a photo with the Valentine Hearts that had been placed near City Hall:
After Disneyland, we ventured over to California Adventure. I bet you didn’t think we’d find any hearts, right? Wrong!
When I think of hearts at California Adventure, I think of the cards at the Mad Tea Party in Hollywood.
Do you see what I mean about the awesome outfit changes?
And a few final stops before our Valentine adventure was over. I love the way the suitcases and colors are designed over by the Duffy Meet and Greet, and am always looking for the right colors to photograph there. Astrid and Ivan’s outfits were a perfect match.
In case your counting, the heart places we discovered were:
1) Snow White’s Wishing Well
2) Teacups
3) Minnie’s House
4) The Mad Tea Party
5) The Hearts on Main Street
Are there any I left out? I’m certain there are!
Love the outfit changes. I think my favorite is the Minnie mirror. So cute!
