Happy Christmas Eve! I hope you all are enjoying time with your families and loved ones. I thought I’d do a special post today about a recent adventure. 🙂 I’ve always been curious about the Disneyland Candy Canes I often hear about, so when a friend of mine asked about them, I decided it was time to see what all the fuss was about. My son’s elf on the shelf had gotten into a bit of trouble the morning before. My son touched him, which is the ultimate no no in the Elf on the Shelf world, so after spending a day in Santa’s hospital recovering, he took a holiday break to see how the candy makers at Disneyland compared to the candy makers over at the North Pole. 😉

The day began by standing in a line to get into the park, and then standing in a line on Main Street once the park opened. There were a lot of people there and there are a limited amount of candy canes. The park opened at 8:00am on that day and all of the candy cane tickets were gone by 8:30am! We knew where to stand because some Disney elves had placed special candy canes down Main Street!

After standing in a line for a bit (everyone who was in line managed to get a candy cane ticket), our Elf was given a special wrist band. Only one per person/elf. Unfortunately, our elf wasn’t counted as a person. He is an elf, after all!

After we had our wrist band, we were given a time to come back for the candy cane. We had an early time because we were the first batch! We were told to come back at 9:30am. This was the fun part though, after we were given our return time, we were able to watch the Candy Makers make the candy canes through the window! It was pretty amazing to watch! The elf on the shelf definitely approved.

Once the candy cane was complete, we were able to pick it up! It was bubble wrapped and everything, these candy makers don’t mess around! Rumor had it that the candy canes were still hot, but I was too nervous to see!

What a fun experience, and what a special candy cane!
