Pre-pandemic, we’d spend Thursday nights at Kelly’s playing trivia with John and Traci. It was the place where they’d had some of their first dates, making Kelly’s a meaningful chapter in their story.
So when John reached out and told me he wanted to get the gang back together again and propose to Traci at Kelly’s during trivia, I knew it was going to be special.
Throughout my career, I’ve photographed celebrities and weddings around the world, and I can honestly say this was the most nervous I’ve ever been. I love Traci and John so much and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. It was extremely dark inside Kelly’s, and we only one chance to get it right. In the end, everything worked out great, and I was so happy with how it all turned out.
John used the excuse of a birthday to reunite the old trivia crew. We even brought along a DJI Osmo, and told Traci we were practicing using it for video for an upcoming wedding. Because of this, we were able to secretly record the entire night without raising suspicion.
Then, during the third round of trivia, the questions shifted to famous proposals. At the end of the round, John took the microphone and asked Traci to marry him. It was a great moment.
